PD Reflection on More Than Cool Tools

Gabcast! K12Online07 Reflections by Wesley Fryer #9 - PD Reflection for the K12Online07 More Than Cool Tools Presentation

This is my reflection for professional development credit, as well as feedback for presenters Alan Levine, Brian Lamb, and D’Arcy Norman, on their wonderful keynote address in the "New Tools" strand of the 2007 K-12 Online Conference. (www.k12onlineconference.org)

Thank you for sharing your reflexions on the "More Than Cool Tools" keynote. Like many educators, I am still working on the 2004 tools (wikis, blogs, RSS), and it is intimidating both in terms of skills and time to take on the long list of tools demonstrated in the keynote. Also like many educators, I am not an early adapter, but a willing, if cautious, adapter. As you concluded, if I can view a handful of new tools as a way to follow a path of discovery, I may be able to get past the "shock and awe" level. Your comments helped me frame the keynote in reasonable and comfortable terms. Thank you!
